Fashion is a manner of doing something, and the fashion industries way of operating is to produce more so we buy more.
This leaves us stuck in a perpetual cycle of:
- having a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear
- hoping and dreaming that you find what you want
- settling for stuff that is just good enough
- confusion, frustration and overwhelm
- throw away clothing culture
- retail ‘therapy’
Producing and consuming too much being the root issue.
The fashion industry places large orders with 3rd party factories all around the world to get the lowest price possible, all while keeping them at arms length so they do not need to take responsibility when realities get exposed.
The industry is changing, one business at a time. Things like sustainable fibres, closed loop systems, fair trade relationships and local production are on the rise.
It is a new way forward.
Fashion Forward.
